The purpose
of this study is to identify pre-service teachers’ self-efficacy beliefs and
the images they hold as science teachers at the beginning of a science teaching
methods course. The study investigated the possible impact the methods course
might have on these two variables and the relationship between them.
The study,
therefore, set out to answer the following research questions:
1) What
images do pre-service teachers have of themselves as science teachers at the
