Dr Salleh Hairon is Assistant Dean, Doctor in Education, Graduate Studies and
Professional Learning, and Associate Professor, Policy and Leadership Studies
Academic Group, at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological
University, Singapore. His research interests center on school leadership for
teacher learning in communities comprising distributed leadership, teacher
leadership, professional learning communities, teacher professional development
and action research. He has recently completed a funded research entitled,
“Leadership for Collective Learning: A Distributed Perspective”, and currently
leading a research project entitled, “Effectiveness of Teacher Leaders in Singapore
Schools: Context, Construct and Causality”. His publications include “Pursuing the
Elusive Construct of Distributed Leadership: Is the Search Over?” in
EMAL, “Teacher Leadership Enactment in PLCs: Towards a Better Understanding of
the Phenomenon” in SLM, and “Professional learning communities in Singapore
and Shanghai: Implications for teacher collaboration” in COMPARE.
