The dramatic growth of solid waste loads in Hong Kong over the past 10 years means that the three strategic landfills will soon be exhausted. Plastic waste makes up around 20% of this growing problem. Given this situation, the Centre for Education in Environmental Sustainability of the Hong Kong Institute of Education and The LAM Foundation are co-organising the four-and-a-half-year, $8 million “I Act, U Act!” – Education for Plastic Waste Recycling programme (IAUA) to educate our next generation, especially primary school students, about the importance and methods of proper plastic recycling. The exhibition will set up game booths and display boards related to plastic sorting and recycling to promote the information of plastic recycling.
