Enhancing Inclusion for Students with Specific Learning Disorders in Language Education

2025-05-15

We are delighted to have the opportunity to gain insights from Ms Nicoletta Cirota, a PhD candidate from Ca' Foscari University of Venice, and currently a visiting researcher at EdUHK, on sharing the state of special education for learners with dyslexia in Italy during the Public Seminars on 30 April and 15 May 2025. She has shared in various crucial areas, including Laws, Support Systems, and Challenges. Additionally, she shared her research on Italian learners of Chinese as a second language, examining both dyslexic and non-dyslexic learners.

To enhance the inclusion of students with specific learning disorders in mainstream foreign language education, Ms Cirota aims to explore the challenges of learning Chinese as a second language. Her work is laying the foundation for future intervention programs that will be tailored to meet the unique needs of these learners.
