We recently had the privilege of hosting Professor Peter Kutnick, Emeritus Professor of Psychology of Education at King’s College London, who provided invaluable insights into the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) in the field of special education 19 February 2025. During his talk, he shared detailed information on how research outputs are assessed in terms of their originality, significance, and rigour—three key criteria essential for achieving high scores.
Professor Kutnick emphasized the importance of these elements in creating impactful research that resonates within the academic community and beyond. He offered practical guidance on how to effectively structure papers to meet these rigorous standards, ensuring our work stands out in a competitive field.
