Led by Dr Kean Poon, the 1st international dialogue and public research seminar was successfully held on 10 December 2020.
Currently, the challenge of how to improve learning and the performance of students with autism is still a key issue in both frontline teaching and research, with literacy difficulties being the predominant symptom that educators and parents face. Professor Joanne Arciuli, Dean of Research from Flinders University, delivered a talk on “Comprehensive Early Reading Instruction for Children with Autism and Recommendations for Future Research”.
After the presentation, the Q&A and individual consultations sessions were held. It was a huge success with fruitful discussion. We hope to use this platform to facilitate international collaborations among our colleagues and partner universities.
The next seminar will take place after the second semester next year – stay tuned for more information!
