「全民國家安全教育日」 訂於每年的4月15日，旨在提高全民國家安全意識，促進市民大眾對國家《憲法》、《基本法》和國家安全的認識，了解國家安全對國家、香港特區以至每一位香港市民的重要性，並培養國民身份認同。
為推廣「全民國家安全教育日」，香港教育大學（教大）與大埔學校聯絡委員會籌備了一系列以「國家安全」為主題的活動，廣邀大埔區的師生參與，藉此強化學校國家安全教育的氛圍，包括：國家安全填色比賽（幼稚園組）、演講比賽（小學組）及短片創作比賽（中學組）。
