What is Team in Community?
“We Take Initiative to Contribute!”
Team in Community (TIC) is a group of individuals who come together to work towards a common goal within a specific community. Each group of people, like you and me, may have different skills, experiences and backgrounds, but we are united by our shared value in contributing to the betterment of our community.
Local Community Service
We serve as a service-learning platform intended to groom students to be “Community Carers” for beneficiaries. SAO strives to develop students with an open mind and a caring heart to understand and contribute to the community and nurture their character traits of caring and citizenship while meeting societal needs.
Students are encouraged to engage in community service activities via 3 types of participation:
As Participants: Join service activities arranged by NGOs, service leaders or organizing committee.
As Service Leaders: Lead a service team and organise voluntary services for recipients by using a particular theme.
As Organizing Committees (for SIP): Demonstrate their leadership capacity and project management skills through organising self-initiated community projects
