Profile
Dr. Cheung, Ho Yin (BSc, MPhil, EdD) is an educational researcher and practitioner. He completed his Ed.D. at University of Bristol specializing in flipped classroom, and his B.Sc. and M.Phil. at HKUST majoring in theoretical and computational physics. He joined The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) as a Lecturer in 2022, teaching AI and general education subjects.
Before joining EdUHK, Dr. Cheung had taught in higher education since 2004 in the areas of physical science, information technology, statistics, and research methods. He believes that the best learning outcomes result from a careful blend between didactic lectures and active learning activities, both with the support of technologies. He has been following this pedagogy in his own teaching throughout the years.
Dr. Cheung also takes part in educational research. His research interests include flipped classroom, blended learning, coding education, and STEM education in general, ranging from theory to design and implementation.
Teaching Interests
Data mining, programming, scientific computation, statistics, research methods, active learning pedagogies in STEM education, IT for business, etc.
