Celebrates Outstanding Research Achievements of Award-Winning PhD Students
The Department of Mathematics and Information Technology (MIT) encourages all affiliated research postgraduate (RPg) students to actively publish research outputs with high quality. To support this initiative, two awards—the “Distinguished Award” and the “Outstanding Award”—have been established.
We are proud to announce the exceptional accomplishments of two distinguished PhD students, Ms. Zheng Zhizi and Mr. Zhuang Yipeng, who have recently been honored with these awards.
Ms. Zheng Zhizi (Awardee of the Distinguished Award and the Outstanding Award)
“I feel fortunate to have received both the Distinguished Award and the Outstanding Award. I am sincerely grateful for the support and guidance from my principal supervisor, Dr. Sun Daner, and co-supervisors, Prof. Kong Siu Cheung and Dr. Bai Shurui, whose insights have greatly helped me. Research is a fascinating process, and I truly value the opportunity to study at EdUHK. When I encounter challenges, I strive to communicate openly with my supervisors. Keeping an open mindset has allowed me to explore new ideas and perspectives. These awards motivate me to continue learning and growing in my research journey.”
Mr. Zhuang Yipeng (Awardee of the Outstanding Award)
“I am greatly honored to receive the Outstanding Award. Over the past year, my research has resulted in publications on topics such as AI-assisted automated writing evaluation for language learning and high-dimensional data variable selection methods. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to my supervisor, Prof. Yu L.H. Philip, for his invaluable guidance, as well as our peers, Dr. Zhao and Mr. Liang, for their support and collaboration. I am also grateful for the conducive research environment provided by our department. Moving forward, I will continue my endeavors in contributing to advancements in data analytics.”
