2022/23 MSc (AI&EdTech) students, Ms Fu Jiachen and Li Binqi, were honored to present at the Apple Distinguished Educators Conference in Hong Kong

On November 11, 2023, the Apple Distinguished Educators Conference in Hong Kong extended a special invitation to MSc (AI&EdTech) students Fu Jiachen and Li Binqi, recognizing their accomplishments in technology-enhanced education. The focus of their presentation was on their WWDC Swift Student Challenge Winning Works Project Display.

Hosted at the Chinese International School, the Apple Distinguished Educators Conference served as a platform to showcase cutting-edge developments in educational technology, emphasizing the integration of innovative learning methods into teaching practices.

Fu Jiachen, a recipient of the 2018 Apple Student Scholarship, garnered recognition for her outstanding achievements in Swift programming and educational innovation. With a notable track record of guiding students to victory in the 2021 Swift Student Challenge and securing the national first prize in the 2023 App contest in China, she shared valuable insights on simplifying the learning process of the Swift programming language and her experiences in mentoring students for competitive events.

In her presentation, Li Binqi unveiled award-winning student projects and guided participating educators through hands-on programming experiences on iPads.

Beyond being a showcase of individual achievements, their participation at the Apple Distinguished Educators Conference reflected a mission to enlighten educators about the boundless possibilities of student programming. Fu Jiachen and Li Binqi are staunch advocates for the transformative power of coding in education, firmly believing that it not only imparts a valuable skill but serves as a medium for students to express creativity and bring their unique ideas to life.

Their involvement signals a broader movement toward a more interactive and technology-driven educational landscape, where programming transcends being a mere skill to become a medium through which students can unleash their creativity, fostering innovative problem-solving and critical thinking.
