Sentimental Review |

The education policy forum was the climax of the Conference and one of its characteristics. The theme of this year was "Beyond Dilemmas: The development of Hong Kong education in the future ten years". Discussion was so enthusiastic that the moderator decided to extend the forum for an extra thirty minutes beyond the two-hour schedule. Even so, the participants were reluctant to leave when the forum finally came to an end. Yet, the only thing they could do was to wait for the 3rd Conference to come in two years' time. Sustainable Development To go back to its origins, the 2nd Hong Kong School Principals' Conference was the result of a sustained and joint effort between the HKIEd, the Hong Kong Subsidised Secondary Schools Council and the Subsidised Primary Schools Council. The aim was to create an important platform for professional exchange in education. I am much honoured to have been involved in the Conference’s organisation work twice in a row. My feeling is that the harmonious relationship among the three co-organisers behind the scene is most vital to the success of the Conference. The tripartite cooperation has forged friendship and trust among members of the organising committee, as the Conference moved from inception to completion. This process has given me such a wonderful experience that it would surely be savoured with great relish in my days of retirement. May the 3rd School Principals' Conference enjoy yet another smooth
success and demonstrate once again the spirit and courage of the Hong
Kong education sector in its pursuit of excellence! |
