Experience Transfer From Hong Kong Scholars to Guangxi Educators

In July 2006, a team of eleven HKIEd teachers and students visited two service sites run by World Vision at Napo and Debao County of Guangxi Province. This voluntary programme provided training to over 200 secondary and primary school principals and teachers, in addition to also bringing the latest concepts in active language teaching and school management to the Chinese-Vietnamese border.

The voluntary training team was led by Dr Ho Man-sing, Associate Professor from the Department of Chinese, and Mr Peter Tang Siu-hung, Project Officer from the Department of Educational Policy and Administration. Mr Tang is also a former primary school principal. The remaining nine members were all third-year students majoring in Chinese Language.
