Safety and wellness
Keep up with current events in your host country and stay alert, especially about situations such as political unrest and natural disasters. If any serious incident does occur, contact EdUHK International Office for advice and assistance immediately.
for Outbound Exchange Students 2016-17
You should act in a responsible manner throughout your exchange:
• Stay away from dangerous areas and gatherings, and don’t visit countries where there is unrest
• Avoid unsafe areas and pay more attention when travelling at night
• Don’t take a large amount of cash out with you
• Be aware of taboos and sensitive subjects
• Never take illicit drugs or abuse alcohol, which can have major legal consequences
• Be alert to unwelcomed sexual behaviour and seek assistance whenever needed
• Never forget the severe consequences of casual sex
