The Department of International Education hosted an overseas tour titled "Enriching Horizons: Unleashing Cultural Competencies Through School Experience in Melbourne, Australia," in December 2024. Led by Ms. Lam Tin Miu, Giselle, this tour aimed to broaden students' global perspectives by immersing them in the Australian educational landscape. Participants engaged in various activities, including lesson observations, co-planning, and co-learning at Ashwood High School and Monash University’s Clayton Campus.

The tour emphasized the importance of cultural responsiveness and professional development from a global perspective, allowing students to engage in in-depth discussions with the senior management team of an Australian school, as well as with educators, pre-service teachers, and in-service teachers. This experiential learning opportunity enabled students to appreciate the complexities of teaching in a multicultural environment, equipping them with the skills to adapt their teaching methods to cater to diverse cultural backgrounds and learning styles. The tour provided invaluable insights into effective teaching practices within a global context.
