Postgraduate Student Sharing of Learning & Teaching (L&T) @EdUHK Festival 2025
Visiting scholars and doctoral students celebrated the remarkable contributions of our postgraduate students and esteemed faculty at the @EdUHK Festival 2025 on March 5.

The celebration began with a keynote speech by Professor Mi Yung Park from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Professor Park discussed bi/multilingualism, (linguistic) discrimination, and education, a timely topic as we navigate the complexities of language diversity in school settings.
Professor Connie Sung from the University of Michigan, USA, delivered the second keynote, “From Idea to Impact: Mastering the Art of Proposal Writing for Graduate Success.”
Professor Sung’s experience in academic proposal writing reinforced students with the skills needed to turn ideas into impactful research.
In addition to the keynotes, four postgraduate students showcased their research efforts.
Ms Eunice Tan Contreras presented her doctoral research as a reflective practice topic, offering a unique perspective on the research process.
Ms Hui Ka Yan Claire explored “Transcending Art Museum Learning: From Virtual Exhibitions to Technology-Mediated Experiences,” highlighting innovative approaches to education in the arts.
Ms Xiong Xiaoyu, who discussed “Parental Cultural Capital and Support for Children’s Extra-Curricular Music Learning in China,” shed light on the important role families play in educational success.
Mr Chui Ka Shing Daniel shared insights on “The Impact of Mathematical Modeling in Primary Education.” Mr Chui argued that this topic is crucial for developing critical thinking skills in young learners.
After the presentations, an open forum chaired by Dr Lucas Kohnke reflected on the ideas presented and encouraged attendees to ask questions and share their thoughts. The forum created a dynamic dialogue that enriched the participants’ understanding of learning and teaching.
The Graduate School appreciates the student and faculty participation and is grateful to Professors Park and Sung and postgraduate students for sharing knowledge and experience in @EdUHK Festival 2025.
