Three ECE students celebrated their success at the Hong Kong Outstanding Prospective Teachers Election this week.
BEd(ECE) student Liu Zinan won a Silver Award. She used picture books, small group activities, and tailored teaching material to teach students about public transport.
BEd(ECE) student Leung Hiu Wing and PGDE(ECE) student Ng Ka Yee both won Bronze.
Hiu Wing transformed her classroom into a countryside scene and held a picnic for her students. She used command cards, picture cards and games to teach children different concepts.
Ka Yee believes that child-centred play can encourage children’s natural curiosity, and so help them gain knowledge and social skills.
The Awards celebrate the outstanding performance of prospective teachers.
