Dr Choi Tae-hee, Assistant Professor of the Department of Education Policy and Leadership, has won the Early Career Award. The prize, conferred by the Research Grant Council, recognizes her achievements in research.
Dr Choi is looking into outsourcing of English language education to agencies outside school using government funds. Her preliminary findings show that monitoring of state fund use at the government is more rigorous than in other countries, but there remain some issues of quality and equity at the school level .
