This course intends to introduce students to the major aspects of psychoeducational measurements and some practical experience with commonly used tests. Topics include: use of assessment procedures in counselling, particular types of psychological assessment methods for school-aged children and adolescents, standards for test usage, measurement concepts and test interpretation (i.e., reliability, validity, norming, and test development), ethical issues in testing. Special emphasis will be put on the clinical practice in screening and assessment, particularly in the experience in oral and written communication of assessment results to parents, teachers, and other professionals.
