Research Methods and Evidence-based Practice
Participants will understand the historical evolution, the importance of research, and research ethics in speech, language, hearing, literacy, communication and swallowing disorders. They will learn different types of research including descriptive, explorative, experimental and survey research. They will learn about how to formulate research questions and hypotheses, to conduct literature review, and to locate access and assess information. They will learn basic research design, quantitative and qualitative research methods. They will learn how to integrate external scientific evidence with clinical expertise and client perspectives into evidence-based practice.
