This year, due to the pandemic outbreak, D(ECE) students had their Study Tour on Zoom. 2021 D(ECE) One-day Virtual Exchange gathered students and teachers from both EdUHK and the Southern University College (SUC) in Malaysia. Our students had had a chance to share with students in SUC about the difficulties in learning Chinese in Hong Kong and their experience in conducting the practicum. In addition, Ms Chen Lee Wan, lecturer at SUC, had given a speech on the ECE curriculum in Malaysia; several local kindergarten in Malaysia had also shared their experience in preschool teaching.

Our D(ECE) student, Khan Iqra shared about the difficulties she met when she was learning Chinese in Hong Kong.
//From September 3, 2020 to January 19, 2021, 17 students from other ECE programmes joined the scheme and paired up with their buddies one-on-one. ... A variety of interactive activities were arranged by student mentors to support the D(ECE) students’ learning and help them adapt to university life. ... During the online meetings, they shared their local cultures (such as religion and traditional food) and personal lives. They developed close relationships at the end of the scheme.//
