Module Code 單元編號 GEM1051 Module Title 單元名稱 PUBLIC SPEAKING AND SOCIETY Module Synopsis 單元概要 This course equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver public speeches, understand the functions and roles of public speeches in society and provides them with the opportunity to support public speaking skills in Hong Kong schools. Topics for public speaking include those related to society, including Chinese culture, and/ors Chinese history, to enhance students’ understanding of our Chinese society. Concepts about and approaches for developing, delivering and evaluating public speaking on the above society-related topics will be covered. Students will be given opportunities to apply these concepts and skills to provide services in schools by identifying learning needs/problems in public speaking and developing programmes for promoting public speaking skills.
