This course will introduce a variety of teaching strategies to promote Chinese culture to young children through Chinese visual arts. It emphasizes enhancing participants’ knowledge of traditional Chinese cultural values derived from ancient Chinese philosophies, which are embedded in various forms of Chinese visual arts, such as painting and architecture. Participants will be encouraged to examine, learn, and appreciate the value of Chinese visual arts in nurturing a spirit of patriotism in children. Through active learning activities, participants will appreciate the value of Chinese visual arts and develop the competence to devise a school-based curriculum infused with Chinese culture.
