Module Code 單元編號 ECE3109 Module Title 單元名稱 DRAMA FOR ENHANCING CHILDREN'S CREATIVITY Module Synopsis 單元概要 This course helps students to develop a wide range of knowledge, skills and theories related to the teaching and learning of drama in early childhood education. As drama is both an art form and a pedagogy, apart from theories of drama/theatre education, literature on children play, creativity and aesthetic understanding will be introduced. Students will also be exposed to a great variety of drama conventions, drama teaching approaches and strategies. In order to facilitate students' ability to appropriate drama as a localized pedagogy, some major contextual constraints and benefits of the drama integration in local kindergartens will be discussed. After finishing the course, students are capable to creatively apply drama into the early childhood curriculum and instruction, and also critically conceptualise, analyse and reflect the teaching practice. To promote the integration of theory and practice, workshop of Drama-in-Education/Process drama will be adopted as one of the teaching approaches.
