In the recent education reform, it is recommended that more room should be allowed for each of the individual schools in developing their own school-based curriculum. Traditionally, the syllabus outline set by the Curriculum Development Council has been referenced and implemented as the teaching curriculum in schools. With the development and implementation of school-based curriculum, some other influences are brought to bear on the centrally-designed curriculum. This paper examines the advantages of implementing a school-based curriculum in the local education structure, and comments on the design of this curriculum of IT in education on the basis of the Skilbeck's approach.
