A Staff Development Workshop on “Adopting Self-Regulated Learning Strategies to enhance Learning & Teaching Effectiveness” conducted by Miss Jannie Tsang for the teachers of TWGHs Leo Tung-hai Lee Primary School was held on 23rd January 2025. In the workshop, the key features of western & eastern practices of Self-Regulated Learning were reviewed. The learning habits and Self-Regulated Learning strategies to be cultivated in students at early age were discussed. Cases of the four major subjects (Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics and General Studies) illustrating how the four different learning modes (self-learning, co-learning, mutual learning, & guided learning) could be integrated in the lesson design. The significance of inculcating self-learning skills at the VUCA era was deliberated. The participating teachers commented that the workshop had helped them consider how Self-Regulated Learning could be further consolidated in their practice in a more effective manner.
