The objective of this seminar is to discuss the theoretical basis and pedagogical implications of the theme of “Globalising Citizenship Education”, with a special focus on Asian perspectives. Suggested topics of discussion include:

The search for universality - What are the meaning and implications of globalization for citizenship and citizenship education?

The search for particularity - What are the meaning and implications of Asian values for “Citizen” and “Citizenship”?

The search for commonality – How can we engaged in a dialogue between global ethics (universality) and Asian values (particularity)?
