21 April, 2009 (Tuesday)

Speakers : Ryan Kaminski, Erik Kumetz, Bryan Winzer

and several HKIEd Model UN Team members

Ryan, Erik, and Bryan are American ETAs working in the C&I and CLE Departments at HKIEd. Together, they have acted as the faculty advisors for the HKIEd Model UN Team since August 2008. Their roles have included assisting the team during weekly meetings and counseling students during conferences.  The student presenters are from both Hong Kong and the mainland and have all competed in a Model UN Conference this year.

The HKIEd Model United Nations Team was formed in 2007 by two ETAs and a group of highly motivated HKIEd students.  This year, the Model UN team has competed in two exciting conferences in Hong Kong and at Beijing University. The Model UN team has also had the privilege of the representing the People’s Republic of China along with the Islamic Republic of Iran.    This seminar will focus on explaining the significance of Model UN as an activity at HKIEd and in Hong Kong,  the accomplishments of the HKIEd Model UN team thus far, and  the future goals of the organization.  Both HKIEd faculty, students, and anyone else interested in learning about this unique group are encouraged to attend.  We look forward to seeing you!
