To enhance teachers’ professional capacity in catering for students with special educational needs (SEN), the Education Bureau (EDB) launched a teacher professional development framework on integrated education in the 2007/08 school year. Under this framework, a structured training programme pitched at three levels, i.e. Basic, Advanced and Thematic Courses (collectively named as BAT Programme), is conducted for serving teachers.
The Department of Special Education and Counselling (SEC) of The Education University of Hong Kong has been commissioned by the EDB to run the BAT Programme since the 2007/08 school year. The study periods of different courses offered by the SEC for the 2024/25, 2025/26 and 2026/27 school years can be retrieved from the EDB Training Calendar (http://tcs.edb.gov.hk).
