減少生態足跡 為瞭解現況，並衡量現有環保舉措的有效性，本校 於二零一八年進行首次廢物評審。同年十二月，第三 屆生物廢物資源化國際會議在本校舉行，主題為廚 餘。來自澳洲、比利時、加拿大、內地、捷克共和國、 芬蘭、德國、香港、印度、南韓、馬來西亞、巴基斯 坦、沙特阿拉伯、新加坡、台灣、泰國、英國以及美國 的學者、專家及本科生聚首一堂，討論先進科技、進 階管理策略，以及多項議題，為處理有機廢物，制定 有效及可持續的管理進程。 教大作為環境保護署「惜食香港」惜食約章的簽署 機構，一直採取積極措施，減少校園的食物浪費，並 鼓勵教職員及學生身體力行，營造氛圍，珍惜食物 及天然資源，例如：延伸廚餘回收計劃，率先在校園 餐廳實施，其後擴展至學生及教職員宿舍。 自二零零九年起，教大（前稱教院）在減少廢物舉措 方面的成就，備受認可，榮獲「卓越級別」的減廢 證書。 As one of the signees of the Environmental Protection Department’s Food Wise Hong Kong Campaign, EdUHK is committed to adopting measures to reduce food waste generation on campus and to encouraging behavioural and cultural changes that engender respect for food and natural resources. In this regard, the University expanded the food waste recycling programme, which was first implemented in catering outlets, to include student halls and staff quarters. Since 2009, EdUHK (as the then Hong Kong Institute of Education) has been granted a Wastewi$e Certificate in the “Class of Excellence” category for its waste reduction measures. Dr Jane Goodall shared ways in which citizens in a highly urbanised city like Hong Kong can contribute to wildlife conservation during a symposium held at EdUHK, as part of the Hong Kong Biodiversity Festival 2018 香港生物多樣性節2018期間， 珍古德博士 到訪教大，並在研討會上，分享市民如何在香港這樣高度城市化的地方，為 保育野生動物出一分力。 39 香港教育大學 2018-2019 年報 Making a difference 積極參與 發揮影響
