Evaluation Methods

Aim

A questionnaire was designed to elicit the feedback of the scheme including their perceived achievement with respect to STEM competencies, perceived values of the scheme and any suggestions for improvement to the scheme if it was organized in the future.

Participants:

All the 240 U-STEMists participating in the scheme were invited to complete an online self-designed questionnaire. Prior consent had been obtained from all the participants by asking them to sign a consent form before the questionnaire was sent to them.

Design of the questionnaire

The self-designed questionnaire comprised two parts. The first part comprised six Likert-type questions (Table 3) designed to gauge their perceived accomplishment in six essential STEM competencies targeted by the Scheme. The second part consisted of two open questions to elicit wide-ranging responses as to the U-STEMists’ perceived valuable features of the scheme and suggestions for improvement.
