Abstract

The rapid deterioration of the contemporary world environment has aroused much concern. China, Taiwan and Hong Kong have reformed their school curricula to introduce to the next generation the awareness and understanding of conserving the environment. This paper is going to outline the current practices of school environmental education in the three Chinese Communities, and highlight the challenges Hong Kong schools face in environmental education, and the implications on teacher education.
