Links

Links is a learning programme designed specifically for leaders in international schools in Hong Kong.

It targets heads of subjects, heads of year, heads of house, heads of faculty and other leaders in English Schools Foundation (ESF) schools.
   
Blue Skies

Blue Skies is a comprehensive programme designed to help Beginning Principals start their principalship on a positive note; to help them to clarify what is important about their school and principalship, and to engage them in ongoing professional learning – all within a supportive collegial environment.
 
Leader Learning Programme
for Principals in Mainland China and Hong Kong


The competitive EDB Mainland-Hong Kong principal professional development grant has been awardeded to the APCLC in developing and executing leader learning programme for principals in the Mainland China and Hong Kong in 2017/18. The Programme aims to enable leaders:

To acquire in-depth and comprehensive understanding on school-based curriculum development in Hong Kong;
To equip with up-to-date knowledge on school development and accountability framework in Hong Kong;
To develop skills in promoting STEM Education in schools with reference to good practices in Hong Kong;
To facilitate professional growth and development with the updated set of professional standards for teachers and principals in Hong Kong.

Other than the formal learning sessions, school leaders from Mainland China and Hong Kong will also visit the PLK Laws Foundation College and the CMA Sun Kei Secondary School.
   
Structured Support Programme for Newly Appointed Principals of Secondary and Special Schools (NAPs)

This Programme aims to equip NAPs with the leadership insights, knowledge and skills so as to bring successful schooling and promote local education standards. As outcomes of the Programme, NAPs will (i) broaden their horizons in meeting the ever-changing challenges of education through introducing various perspectives / domains of leadership within and outside the school context by renowned educators and leaders in other professions; and (ii) establish a leader learning network of NAPs and experienced serving principals (SPs) so that the NAPs and SPs can benefit from mutual sharing of knowledge and wisdom with regard to professional development, new initiatives and concerns pertaining to Hong Kong secondary and special education..
 
Programme of Leadership Enhancement
for Serving Principals


The programme aims to enrich serving principals’ leadership skills and knowledge of school improvement by learning about leadership in business organizations and / or NGOs. By collaborating with different private business organizations and public corporations, participating leaders will be provided with insightful opportunities for experiential learning about leadership and management. Participants will receive meaningful collegial feedback on their strengths and weaknesses in relation to the context of school leadership in Hong Kong from experienced school leaders, scholar-practitioners, and peers.
   
The Educational Administration and Management Course comprises 6 components, including (i) Curriculum Development; (ii) Support for Student Development; (iii) School Administration and Staff Development, (iv) Selected learning modules: Crisis Management / Public Relations and Communication / School Document / Team Building; (v) Learning Celebration: Presentation and Completion Ceremony and (vi) Additional Learning Topics: DISC and Case Study & Learning. Course participants will be able to complete the above mentioned in 45 contact hours.
   
Leadership Development Programme
for Middle Leaders of Primary and Secondary Schools


The programme is designed to provide middle leaders in primary and secondary schools with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and effectiveness as leaders, to better assist school principals in performing administrative duties and taking forward school-based initiatives. As outcomes of the programme, participants will:

Reflect critically regarding their roles and functions in school;
Be ready to serve as a bridge of communication between the school management and the teaching staff and to play an important role in school management; and
Enhance their knowledge, skills and confidence in assuming a leadership role among the teaching staff.
