Prof. Sedat Gümüş is an Associate Professor at the Department of Educational Policy and Leadership and Acting Director of the Asia Pacific Centre for Leadership and Change at the EdUHK. Before moving to Hong Kong, he was an associate professor at Aarhus University, Denmark.
Prof. Gümüş defines himself first and foremost as a teacher. He worked around 2.5 years as a math teacher in Turkey before he moved to the USA for his graduate education in 2007. He received his PhD from the Department of Educational Administration at Michigan State University, USA in 2012 and his master's from the same institution in 2010. He was nationally selected for the David L. Clark Graduate Student Research Seminar sponsored by University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA) and later became a founding member of the UCEA Graduate Student Council.
His research focuses on educational leadership, social justice, and cross-cultural studies in education policy. He has published extensively in international journals and collaborates with researchers worldwide to examine leadership models and their impact on school effectiveness.

Dr. Jiafang LU is Associate Professor in the Department of Education Policy and Leadership at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). She is also Acting Co-Director of the Joseph Lau Luen Hung Charitable Trust Asia Pacific Centre for Leadership and Change, a university-level strategic research and development centre established in 2010 at EdUHK.
She received her doctoral degree in Applied Psychology from Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. She is committed to applying organizational psychology and behavioral sciences into studying leadership development, school leadership teams, and innovation in educational settings. She shares her interest with similar enthusiasm for translating knowledge in these areas into leadership development and school improvement in Hong Kong and beyond.
Her expertise has provided constructive insights and guidance for fostering effective teamwork and cultivating innovative practices within educational institutions. During 2020 and 2024, she contributed to the local implementation of the new policy on Enhanced Training Requirements for Promotion in Hong Kong by co-coordinating related training programmes or engaging in direct training for 6000+ teacher leaders. She produces documentary videos about school leaders and their members to showcase the good work happening in Hong Kong education.

Associate Professor Hui WANG serves as the Acting Associate Director at the Centre for Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies at The Education University of Hong Kong. With a robust background in educational policy analysis and quantitative research methods, she excels in bridging educational research with practical policy implementation.
Her work, focusing on equity in higher education access and success, has significantly influenced institutional and governmental decision-making through rigorous statistical analysis and large-scale educational assessments. Professor Wang obtained her PhD in Education Policy from the University of Hong Kong and has served as a consultant for UNESCO on education policy development in the Asia-Pacific region.
Her current projects examine the impact of digital transformation on educational equity and the role of policy interventions in improving student outcomes across diverse educational contexts.

Professor Allan WALKER previously served as Joseph Lau Chair Professor of International Educational Leadership, Dean of the Faculty of Education and Human Development and Director of The Joseph Lau Luen Hung Charitable Trust Asia Pacific Centre for Leadership and Change (APCLC) at The Education University of Hong Kong.
Prior to joining EdUHK, he worked at universities in Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong and conducted leader development courses and/or research in America, Europe and across the Asia Pacific. Professor Walker is known internationally for his passion for school leadership, innovative approaches to leader development, as well as promoting leader control and accountability for their own professional learning.
In 2010, he was made a Fellow of the Australian Council for Educational Leadership for his contribution to educational leadership research and development globally, especially in South and Southeast Asia. In 2011, he was awarded an endowed chair professorship by EdUHK in recognition of his outstanding research and academic achievements in international educational leadership.
