On 15 January 2025, Dr Sedat Gumus gave a keynote titled "Instructional Leadership Across Context" at the XIV Inter-American Conference on School Management and Leadership, at Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (UC Chile).

The UC Education Summit is one of the most significant annual events in the region that brings together scholars from across Latin America as well as international experts to discuss higher education and leadership in school education. To date, there have been 21 editions of the Higher Education sessions and 14 of the School Leadership sessions.

The event is held in a hybrid format, combining in-person activities with live streaming, allowing it to reach every corner of the country and region. For example, this year, over 1,000 attendees from outside Chile registered. For 2025, more than 4,000 people signed up for the School Leadership sessions.

The event aims to bridge the latest academic research with decision-makers, school leaders, and teachers, promoting improvements in the school system.
