Asia Pacific Centre for Leadership and Change (APCLC)
Leading Educational Leadership and Change in Greater China and Beyond
Vision
We aim to connect broader Asian contexts as well as Belt and Road countries worldwide. In addition to focusing on such regions, we strive to enhance collaborations with key institutions and scholars in the Western world, strengthening our global partnerships and enriching the international discourse on leadership research and development. By doing so, we aim to create a dynamic exchange of leadership knowledge that transcends regional boundaries.
Core Values
APCLC's core values reflect our vision:
- Innovation: We will pilot and experiment with cutting-edge research, teaching, and knowledge transfer strategies, ensuring that our work remains fresh, relevant, and impactful.
- Global Perspective: By expanding our focus to include a broader range of Asian contexts, Belt and Road countries, and beyond, we will contribute indigenous understandings to the international discourse on leadership research and development.
- Collaborative Excellence: We will nurture a culture of collaborative learning and support, recognising that our greatest achievements come from working together within the centre, university, region, and worldwide.
- Open-mindedness: In an increasingly uncertain and polarised world, we will value differences, seek common ground, and remain open to diverse perspectives.
Mission
To realise our vision, the centre will pursue a three-fold mission:
- Bridging: Build bridges between regional and international leadership understandings, creating cross-culturally valid knowledge with global relevance.
- Spreading: Disseminate leadership knowledge through research publications, professional development programs, and global and regional engagements, making our insights accessible to a broader audience.
- Bonding: Form and sustain reciprocal relationships with researchers and practitioners, enhancing their ownership of the centre's network and promoting collaborative growth.
