About the Seminar:
In this session, two mobile apps for classroom observation, namely International Comparative Analysis of Learning and Teaching (ICALT) and Comparative Analysis of Effective Teaching and Inspiring Teaching (CETIT), will be introduced. They are developed based on validated measurements of effective teaching and inspiring. An online platform is developed to collect classroom observation data from the apps and provide teachers and schools immediate feedbacks. ICALT and CETIT have good functionalities which are more efficient to measure effective teaching by teacher when having lessons. Teachers can check how their practices affect student engagement. The apps provide reliable and evidence-based recommendation to subject teachers to improve classroom teaching. Teachers can use the platform for self-evaluation, peer observation, teaching and practitioner research. Confidential feedback will be provided to enable teachers’ reflection-in-action. Teachers and schools will be able to measure teaching effectiveness by using the ICALT and CETIT in the peer classroom observation.
