APCLC Talk at the Global HR Forum Korea
on Social Mobility of Marginal Students

by the Korean Ministry of Education

Dr. Choi Tae-Hee, Research Fellow of APCLC and Assistant Professor of Department of Education Policy and Leadership, was invited to give a speech at the Global HR Forum Korea on social mobility of marginal students by the Korean Ministry of Education on November 6-7, 2019.

Opened with a welcome message from President Moon Jae-in, the Global HR Forum Korea enabled researchers, policy makers and businesses to collectively seek solutions for current educational issues. The talk drew on findings from her past and ongoing projects funded by the UGC and other organisations. The projects concern educational privatization (see here 1 & 2) and projects on the medium of instruction policies in Asia including Hong Kong (see here). Dr. Choi discussed how best to manage educational reforms to contribute to social mobility of marginal students. The talk was broadcast live to the entire nation and formed part of the curriculum of the Open University of Korea.

APCLC and EPL will also continue to play an active role in development and research in educational reforms in Asia Pacific. Through doing this they hope to help take school leader development and connection to the next level.
