9th Asia Leadership Roundtable Quality research, regional impact, international presence The first Asia Leadership Roundtable (ALR) was held in Hong Kong in 2010. It is now firmly established as the premier forum for research in school leadership in the Asia Pacific Region. Publications flowing from projects initiated through the Roundtable have had a marked impact on knowledge production and dissemination throughout the Region – particularly China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore. By bringing together 60 key international and regional researchers the ALR aims to build the regional school leadership knowledge base while contributing to the capacity and productivity of junior schools in East Asia. Scholars, practitioners and policy makers from 17 societies across five continents attended the 2018 Roundtable. The 2018 ALR was again organised and sponsored by The Joseph Lau Luen Hung Charitable Trust Asia Pacific Centre for Leadership and Change (APCLC), the Faculty of Education and Human Development (FEHD), the Education Bureau of Jianggan District, Hangzhou China and The Institute of Schooling Reform and Development at East China Normal University. The theme this year was "The West Wind vs. the East Wind: Understanding Leadership for Teacher Learning". Work flowing from and supported by the Roundtable marks the APCLC as the dominant contributor to School leadership research in East and Southeast Asia and position EdUHK as a key international player in the area.
