APCLC Research Fellow Dr. Lam Bick-har Wins Best Paper Award Dr. Lam Bick-har, Research Fellow of APCLC, won the Best Paper Award at the Redesigning Pedagogy Conference. Her paper, written with Ms Li Winkie, takes findings from health psychology to help improve social support in education. The paper highlights how different contexts facilitate or inhibit the beneficial effects of social support, it proposes a framework of how students’ social capital can be improved to enhance their learning and wellbeing. The C&I professor also looked at ways teachers could support students to enhance their own development and well-being. The Redesigning Pedagogy International Conference, hosted by the National Institute of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University is held every two years. The Conference shares international research and best practices across schools and cultures. |
