Asia Leadership Roundtable 2017
Professor Allan Walker, Joseph Lau Chair Professor of International Educational Leadership, Dean of the Faculty of Education and Human Development and Director of The Joseph Lau Luen Hung Charitable Trust Asia Pacific Centre for Leadership and Change (APCLC) at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), is pleased to announce that the Asia Leadership Roundtable 2017 will be hosted by APCLC and the Tamkang University from 5 to 7 March 2017 in Taipei.
Themed “Seven years on: The state of the Asian knowledge base?”, the Roundtable this year will allow more than 60 regional and international education scholars, practitioners, training managers, policymakers and principals from 18 countries and territories in the region and beyond to reflect on what has been learned about school leadership in Asia since the first Asia Leadership Roundtable; and discuss implications of the process and outcomes experienced in Asia for: (i) school leadership research in Asia; (ii) research in other parts of the world; and (iii) conducting high impact cross-cultural comparative research.
Professor Allan Walker and Professor Flora Chia-I Chang, President of Tamkang University, will officiate the opening of Asia Leadership Roundtable 2017. Professor Clive Dimmock, Professor of the University of Glasgow, Professor Stephan Huber, Professor and Head of The Institute for Management and Economics of Education (IBB) of the University of Teacher Education of Switzerland Zug (PHZG), and Professor Wendy Pan, Professor of Graduate Institute of Educational Policy and Leadership and Executive Director of the Center for Learning and Teaching of the Tamkang University and Prof. Philip Hallinger, Professor of Chulalongkorn University cum Senior Research Fellow of APCLC, will deliver keynote speeches.
APCLC Research Fellows and International Affiliates Professor Alma Harris, Professor Li Jiacheng, Professor Zheng Yulian, Professor Greer Johnson, Prof. Tobias Feldhoff, Prof. Raj Mestry, Dr Helen Goode, Dr David Gurr, Dr Xiu Cravens, Dr Trung Dinh Thang, Dr Michelle Jones, Dr Nyeu Fong-yee, Dr Cheng Shu-huei and Dr Elson Szeto and APCLC Associate Director Dr Lu Jiafang, will share models and/ or findings that inform instructional leadership research and practice for their country; and possible ways of integration of different national data bases into a global knowledge base.
