Past Events

The Graduate School and The Global Affairs Office of The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) are collaborating with Yuanpei College, Peking University, to host the Education, Teaching, and Administration Training Course from March 19 to 23, 2025.

EdUHK alumni and their families and friends were welcomed back to EdUHK’s Tai Po campus for an afternoon of activities on March 22. Alumni visiting the GS booth on the Podium at the Tai Po campus received a warm welcome and a choice of bespoke souvenirs.

On March 20, Principal Cheng Lai-kuen of F.D.B.W.A. Chow Chin Yau School delivered a career talk titled “Are You Ready? Exploring the Educational Landscape of Hong Kong Aided Primary Schools: Curriculum Features, Teacher Roles, and Principal Expectations” for postgraduate students. The session at EdUHK’s Tai Po campus aimed to help aspiring educators gain deeper insight into the curriculum and employment practices of aided primary schools in Hong Kong, equipping them for their future careers.

Professor Andy Xuesong Gao from the University of New South Wales delivered a seminar titled “Conducting and Publishing Research Synthesis: Techniques and Best Practices” on March 15, 2025. The session focused on the critical process of research synthesis within the academic and scientific community, detailing various methodologies and best practices.

Dr Lucas Kohnke, EdD Programme Coordinator and Senior Lecturer from the Department of English Language Education, delivered a workshop titled “From Manuscript to Publication: Navigating the Journal Publishing Process” on March 12.

Postgraduate students embarked on an immersive ecotour at Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG) organized by the Graduate School (GS) on March 6, 2025. Participants explored Hong Kong’s rich biodiversity, learning about native flora and fauna while enjoying the serene natural environment.

Visiting scholars and doctoral students celebrated the remarkable contributions of our postgraduate students and esteemed faculty at the @EdUHK Festival 2025 on March 5.

Dr Lucas Kohnke, EdD Programme Coordinator and Senior Lecturer from the Department of English Language Education, delivered a workshop on writing effective abstracts on March 4th. The face-to-face workshop was the fourth in a series of six aimed at enhancing students’ academic communication skills.

The in-person workshop was the third in a series of six aimed at enhancing students’ academic communication skills.

The Graduate School (GS) hosted the EdD Alumni Connections forum on February 15, 2025. Prof Chetwyn Chan, Vice President (Research & Development), welcomed participants and stressed the importance of academic, professional and social networking. Prof Chan was joined by Prof Michelle Gu, Dean of the GS, and five distinguished EdD alumni for a panel discussion.
